Hire a Pottery Studio in London: Small Events, Photoshoots and Filming
Share
Finding a small, characterful space in central London is hard. Most options are either an anonymous meeting room or the back room of a bar. Doppiocotto's working ceramics studio in Waterloo, London SE1, can be hired for private events of up to 20 people, and as a location for photoshoots and filming. The studio is a 9-minute walk from Waterloo station and a 2-minute walk from Lambeth North station.
A small event space in Waterloo
The studio is the working space of ceramic artist Bora Cetin, where every piece in the Doppiocotto collection is made by hand. Guests gather in a real creative space surrounded by handmade stoneware. It can be hired for:
- Private parties and celebrations: birthdays, baby showers, hen parties and small get-togethers
- Workshops and classes: a space for your own creative workshop, talk or demonstration
- Team days and meetings: an off-site setting for small teams who want somewhere different
- Pop-ups and launches: product launches, small exhibitions and brand events
You can also combine your hire with a hands-on pottery session led by Bora. See our guide to private group pottery events for ideas.
A real pottery studio on camera
For photographers, production companies and brands, the studio offers the real thing rather than a set dressed to look like one:
- Workbenches with clay, tools and pieces at every stage of making
- The kiln where every piece is bisque fired and glaze fired
- Shelves of handmade stoneware: cups, plates, jugs and vases
- Glazes and textures that work well for close-up, product and lifestyle shots
It suits adverts and brand campaigns, product and editorial photoshoots, short films, documentaries, music videos and social media content. Bora can also work on camera as a hand model for making shots. Doppiocotto is entirely hand-built, without a pottery wheel, so the making shown is slab-building and hand-forming. Handmade ceramics from the studio can be used in shot, and custom pieces can be made for a production; see Custom Ceramics for Advertising Agencies.
Getting there
Lambeth North station (Bakerloo line) is a 2-minute walk away, and Waterloo station (National Rail, Jubilee, Bakerloo, Northern and Waterloo & City lines) is a 9-minute walk, close to the South Bank.
