I made the 8 oz capacity stoneware ceramic coffee mug. It is prepared handmade red clay. I shaped the body, base, and handle of this cup with the slap method, which is one of the ceramic shaping methods.
The stoneware clay fired at 1160 degrees is very solid. The highly fired glaze is food-safe, can be heated in the microwave, and can also be washed in the dishwasher.
